Our Corporate Customer Information Management Data Services team focuses on sourcing raw data, creating value driven data assets, and providing data assets for enterprise and business unit use cases.
Responsibilities:
A Day in the Life…
The Data Analyst Intern will be hands on with our enterprise data warehouse querying data, analyzing data, and creating new data assets. The intern will be introduced to on premise data warehouses and cloud data lakes, and will be responsible for:
- Querying database to develop structure for unstructured data and continue to improve logic for aggregating data
- Maintaining and improving data dictionary by adding valuable information, such as data lineage, range of values, and quality of attribute
- Preparing data for analysis, including data cleansing, removing outliers, and creating new fields by combining or separating existing data
- Supporting the email campaign team with campaign targeting, list pulling, post-promo analysis, etc.
- Assisting with migrating data from data warehouse to analytical environment
- Performing data analysis, as needed, such as developing predictive models and/or decision trees for consumer behavior
Basic Qualifications:
What we are looking for…
- Strong skills with coding in SQL
- Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with analyzing data
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Positive attitude and team collaboration spirit
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intermediate skills with R
- Basic understanding of data science principles, and have taken courses in data science
- Statistic Analytics such as regressions and logistic regression
Required Education
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Math, Econ/Business, or Engineering
Preferred Education
- Senior in college or recently graduated (within 6 months of graduation)
Additional Information:
- The approximate dates of this internship are Sep 2018 through Dec 2018
- Candidate must be available to work part time hours (approximately 20 hours per week) for the duration of the internship, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Able to provide own housing and transportation in the Burbank/Los Angeles area
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must be at least 18 years of age
