Job summary:

We are looking for a bright, talented data professional who wants to help the Ad Council leverage our marketing capabilities to reach new and existing partners. In this role, you will be part of an internal team that values innovation, collaboration and is passionate about our end users. Its critical that this person understands our mission to make a measurable difference in peoples lives by reaching audiences with social good campaigns.

The Ad Council is looking for a Data Manager who will carry out the collection, clean-up, and analysis of a media database. This person will have advanced excel skills, experience in data clean-up, and an understanding of data quality assurance. They will oversee the development and maintenance of a media database that will ultimately be used to reach out to local media stations nation-wide. They will also manage our partner relationships data and ensure adherence to data protocols.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database management and excellent communication skills. They will also be tech-savvy with a keen attention to detail. They will discover efficient ways to keep data information accurate and organized. They will oversee the function and integrity of data collecting, reporting the data accurately at the Ad Council. Their duties also include researching corporate hierarchies, developing procedures and policies for data management, and assisting colleagues in performing data-related tasks.

This is a contract employee role. This means that, while the position is at all times one of at will employment, the Ad Council anticipates at present that the employment length would be approximately 6 months with the possibility to extend the contract. The compensation for this position is $7,500 monthly, paid semi-monthly. Contract employees will be eligible to participate in limited benefits and paid time off.

What youll do:

  • Collect information from media outlets by phone or internet research
  • Research and maintain media organization parent/child hierarchies, responsible for its accuracy
  • Complete quality assurance process on data collection
  • Generate and run reports using basic Salesforce reporting features
  • Analysis and oversight of database maintenance issues
  • Promote best practices in data collection, mapping, and reporting
  • Develop, implement, and maintain efficient procedures for data handling and analysis
  • Monitor and analyze information to identify issues or areas of concern with the functionality of CRM systems and other operating systems.
  • Work with technical lead to manage data feed to ensure clean data integration and no duplicates.
  • Prepare detailed reports for management and other departments by analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Support functional teams to ensure data integrity is maintained
  • Engage with functional teams to understand their processes and their impact on data cleanliness
  • Create reports and data extraction, as well as other data-related projects for functionality assessments, as needed.
  • Ensure presentation of metrics and data is consistently defined, formatted, and labeled across end-user deliverables and reports

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of data management experience
  • Thorough understanding of management and data administration duties such as collection, analysis, and distribution
  • Specialized experience working in Microsoft Excel, well versed in functionalities like VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Knowledge or the ability to learn basic Salesforce skills required
  • Ability to compile and organize findings and data retrieved before presenting it to management
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills with extreme attention to detail
  • Display good research and organizational abilities
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and organize large amounts of data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to accomplish assignments/tasks with little or no supervision
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, etc.)

Qualities of a standout candidate:

  • Experience with modern database and information system technologies
  • Knowledge of the media industry is strongly preferred
