Oracle Business Intelligence Developer

Job Description

Global video game publisher/developer headquartered in Rockville, MD, seeks a detail-oriented Oracle Business Intelligence Developer. We are seeking a talented individual who has developed Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA) for both the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE).

Responsibilities

BI Design and Integration

• Full lifecycle development (including design and development of metadata, dashboards and reports) of custom Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Applications
• Design, configure, and maintain pre-build OBIEE modules (OBA) as well as RPDs.
• Create complex logical dimensions to provide pre-defined drill-paths to facilitate multi-module aggregated reporting (both internally and externally sourced data)
• Create and maintain OBIEE design documents
• Guide super-users in using OBIEE Answers and understanding application metadata
• Maintain OBIEE application, assisting with data quality testing, and updating Extract Transform Load (ETL) mappings
• Create ETL source-to-target mapping documents
• Troubleshoot reports issues in Production
• Write and execute unit testing scripts to test data quality
• Develop data models with OBIEE 11g using the BI Administration
• Design, build and manage BI reports that aggregate internally and externally sourced data
• Support the integration of 3rd party data into the overall OBIEE infrastructure, including data management and reporting needs
• Support integration of EDI data into the Oracle platform, along with the requisite reporting requirements

Application Management

• Tune/Optimize data model performance using OBIEE.
• Evaluate data storage methods and suggest improvements (e.g., relational tables versus OLAP cubes, aggregate tables, data restructuring within warehouse)
• Validate Production Release/Reporting
• Validate new models to ensure accuracy of metrics/business rules
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5 years of experience as an OBIEE Consultant or similar IT position
• Experience using SQL, PL/SQL, and Toad, and Informatica ETL
• Experience integrating OBIEE with Hyperion Essbase and Planning
• Experience integrating consolidated reporting across multiple modules within OBIEE
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience using OBIEE version 11g
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite R12, OBIEE/OBIA
• 3-4 years writing advanced SQL queries using Oracle 10g/11g
• Experience using Oracle RDBMS, EssBase or other OLAP experience preferred
• Detailed understanding of Physical/Business Model/Presentation layer to create data models (Subject Areas) that meet a variety of reporting needs from complex Dashboards to ad-hoc reports
• Detail oriented – able to document and follow detailed instructions
• Ability to work independently, coordinate within a team, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills using email, instant message, and conference calls
• Proven track record managing applications bugs and enhancements
• Experience in liaising, submitting, tracking and managing Oracle Support service requests
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent degree/work experience
• Good written and verbal communication skills
