The Outcomes Analyst supports the Office of the College Outcomes Assessment in coordinating assessment activities. This office uses available information technology resources to gather, organize, and store appropriate data, perform statistical analysis of outcomes data, generate reports, and help disseminate the findings to appropriate stakeholders to meet the needs of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the university, other programs, and constituents.

 

Essential Duties

1. Excellent analytical, verbal, and written English communication and presentation skills. Must be able to interact effectively with administration, faculty, staff, students, and other external contacts.

2. Ability to collect, organize, and manage large amounts of data in different formats.

3. Excellent data visualization skills, including the ability to interpret data and create impactful reports and dashboards.

4. Ability to perform basic quantitative and qualitative statistical analyses.

5. Ability to manage sensitive records in an atmosphere of procedure and security.

6. Good interpersonal communication and the ability to work well in a group.

7. Self-motivated, and self-directed learner with the skills to facilitate, organize, prioritize and manage projects.

8. Excellent problem-solving and logic skills, with high attention to detail.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Any combination, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree required. Coursework in research methods, survey design, programming language, and statistics are preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in data management and analysis, or equivalent; or a combination of academic and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel® (including functions such as PivotTable, Pivot Charts, Lookups, conditional functions, among others).
  • Experience with survey creation/distribution using Qualtrics®, report writing, and project management.
  • Experience in using statistical programs such (examples: SPSS®, SAS®, JMP®, R, GraphPad® or similar.
  • Experience with Power Microsoft BI®, SharePoint®, and PowerApps®.
  • Experience with programming language (example: Python, R, or similar).
  • Knowledge of relational database management systems, entity-relationship diagrams, data flows, data normalization, and SQL syntax.

Duties of the Outcomes Analyst are normally performed in a typical office setting. However, duties may require different environmental settings which may include, but are not limited to classrooms, farms, clinical practices, research and academic laboratories, and other off campus settings from time to time. Occasionally the employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in this setting is usually moderate due to telephone calls, office equipment, and normal student traffic. Some travel may be required and work environment characteristics will change to that of the regional norms.
