Job Description

Lead reporting and data mining efforts providing analysis that drives sales recommendations and uncovers opportunities to grow The Walt Disney Company as a member of our Sales Analytics and Insights (SAI) team. The scope of the role includes overseeing the bridging of data from different systems and developing graphical quantitative reports to answer client’s questions. The successful candidate will be a savvy hands-on leader who can deliver results.

Consumer Insight, Measurement, & Analytics (CIMA) is an organization that enables data-driven and consumer-centric decision making through integrated, objective and actionable insights. Within CIMA, the SAI team provides objective decision support to the Sales organization in the following areas: client and cast incentives, sales channel analytics and optimization, and sales strategy.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

  • Pursue innovation - Develop new efficiencies and processes for extracting and merging various big data sets
  • Share knowledge - Develop an understanding of various internal and external sales-related systems for consulting with clients
  • Exceed the goal - Manage multiple short- and long-term projects simultaneously under changing and challenging constraints
  • Interact - Foster relationships with other internal departments and project stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in data mining, business analytics or similar, preferably within the travel/hospitality industry
  • Expertise working with reporting and data mining tools such as SAS, Teradata SQL, Tableau, Business Objects, Crystal Reports
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis utilizing SAS or a similar program
  • High proficiency in SQL, Access, and Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Proven experience with data operations, as well as understanding and documenting complex data processes and flows
  • Knowledge of and experience with relational databases, online data management skills and data warehousing practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tell simple, compelling stories to guide decision making
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and changing priorities

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with concentration in Data Analysis, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Finance or similar discipline

Preferred Education

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience with a concentration
