Key Responsibilities:
- Execute end to end analytical process: from the formulation of requirements, data acquisition, identification of analytical methods, creation/validation of models to business-friendly summarization of results
- Partner with business stakeholders to develop actionable analytical insights, dashboards, and reports
- Develop predictive and descriptive models using advanced statistical, optimization, and big data techniques including: multivariate, regression, decision trees/classification, and time series
- Identify critical business questions to be answered and contribute to developing analytics-driven solutions and KPIs to enable more effective decision making
- Support ongoing projects including subscription forecasting, marketing effectiveness and tracking, analysis of sales trends, customer segmentation and targeting
- Create models, KPIs, and dashboards to operationalize outcomes of analytics
- Monitor the effectiveness of analytical models and ensure accuracy of all data from source to final deliverable through a systematic data quality control process
- Work in a complex data environment comprising several heterogeneous internal and 3rd party data sources, manipulate large data sets and navigate a variety of servers, data types, and data structures to complete statistical and other analyses
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of professional experience
- Passionate about manipulating and analyzing data in order to drive insights and actionable business recommendations
- Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and communicate relevant insights and recommendations using presentations, reports and data visualization
- Demonstrated ability to apply statistical techniques to business problems and to leverage machine learning and predictive analytics where necessary
- Proven track record of identifying and highlighting key insights, signals, and trends in underlying data
- Analytical experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in forecasting and analysis
- At least 2 years of experience working with a statistical analysis and Python to drive business decisions
- At least 2 years of experience performing data management, mining, and manipulation
- Big data platforms (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Spark, Qubole)
- Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Cognos, Qlik)
- Industry experience:
- TV, Entertainment, Media, or Sports industry preferred
- Familiarity with digital subscription business desired
- E-commerce/online retail a big plus
- BA/BS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Math, Statistics, etc.)
- MS or MBA degree preferred
- Ability to write SQL code to query and transform both unstructured and structured data
- Self-motivated with a "roll up your sleeves" work style and great interpersonal skills
