In a Nutshell //

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Data Wrangler who has strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently, as well as coordinate with team members.  The Sr. Data Wrangler will be responsible for managing and ensuring the quality, integrity, and processing of royalty data.  Duties include coordinating, “wrangling”, cleansing, joining, and calculating large data sets from multiple sources, while maintaining high quality data standards and achieving monthly targets.  This is a critical role that interacts with finance team members, clients, business partners, and multiple departments. This position reports to the Director of Royalties. This role will work remotely in Tampa, FL, reporting to the office in downtown Tampa as needed.  

What you will do //

  • Merge many large data sources into a single, clean dataset; identifying and resolving gaps and discrepancies in royalty and related data.
  • “Wrangle”, format / transform, raw data into a more usable form, using complex data models, system workflows, and SQL.
  • Ensure collected data is in the correct format with excellent quality and integrity, including complex contract models, distribution rates, and calculations. 
  • Identify outliers in data and resolve discrepancies
  • Suggest improvements and best practices to enhance the royalties data process and workflow
  • Identify, communicate and solve complex issues
  • Plan and execute work independently and take ownership of your area
  • Achieve robust goals and turnaround times within a fast-paced and multi-faceted environment
  • Provide and coordinate niche client support and reporting regarding royalty-related matters
  • Produce reports and/or dashboards as needed
  • Maintain and/or create documentation of royalty-related processes as needed
  • Contribute to evolving our technology, processes, and culture

What you need to have //

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience working with complex, large data sets in a professional environment
  • Experience performing “data wrangling”, data cleansing, and/or “data munging”
  • Advanced proficiency with Transact-SQL and/or mySQL syntax 
  • Advanced proficiency with relational databases including normalization, schemas, and table relationships / joins
  • Advanced proficiency with importing CSV and TAB delimited text / flat files to SQL using MS SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIF and other formulas / formatting
  • Incredible attention to detail

  • Experience with Snowflake and/or Mode
  • Experience with data-driven Software as a Service (SaaS) applications
  • Experience with remote client support / virtual help desk
  • Experience with accounting concepts and data
  • Knowledge of best practices in royalty data scrubbing and reporting
