The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in giving the entire company insight into the bigger picture. Our goal is to empower everyone at Stitch Labs with timely, accurate, and actionable information. This role is dedicated to expanding access to and understanding of data and insights. You’ll be responsible for analysis, measurement, and reporting of business health metrics.

The data science team loves SQL and Python and is working to bring more accessible tools to the whole company. We love complex data sets, and also relish in transforming this into simple, actionable insights that can drive impact across the business. We have broad exposure to the workings of departments across Stitch and use our expertise in data to facilitate business decisions. As part of a company that values transparency, a driving goal of the data team is to foster an internal understanding of business performance and opportunities by sharing highlights of in depth analysis and developing automated reporting for key business metrics.

A qualified candidate must enjoy working with large data sets and relying on business acumen to form and test hypotheses. You should have a bias for action, an interest in seeing your findings implemented and institutionalized, and an enthusiasm for communicating business objectives and performance to many cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Every day, you’ll be working on projects that drive value to our company and helping others optimize their work. On any given day, you might be:

  • Creating and designing reporting and visualizations to help the company quickly and effortlessly understand business performance
  • Serving as a consultative resource for internal customers (marketing, sales, customer, product teams) to develop analyses that lead to actionable insights that accelerate growth
  • Wrangling data from multiple sources to create integrated views that can be used to influence and drive business decisions
  • Collaborating with data scientists to build models for predicting performance and identifying leading indicators of KPI success
  • Identifying the most valuable opportunities for improvements across our funnel and quantifying the value
  • Delivering high level and actionable presentations to business stakeholders that tell cohesive, logical stories using data
  • Training team members on business intelligence and data access tools

Qualifications

  • College educated with a strong academic record, ideally in a field such as economics, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or other quantitative field
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a data-driven, quantitative role or as a management consultant
  • Experience with SQL; experience with Python, Tableau, Looker a plus
  • Excellent communicator who inspires action through data storytelling, enhanced with strong, clear visualizations
  • Intense intellectual curiosity -- strong desire to always be learning
  • Analytical, creative and innovative approach to solving difficult problems
