StarTech.com is growing its Data Analytics & Market Research Department by adding a new Data Analyst - Inventory to the team at our London, Ontario, Canada office.

Reporting to the Director, Market Research & Analytics, the Data Analyst - Inventory will be a valued contributor to the team in the areas of inventory analysis and reporting. This individual is responsible for using data to inform the development of the Product Availability Strategy, communicating the strategy to the Operations Team and reporting, to measure the success of the strategies and identify opportunities at Distribution Centres and partners.

In This Role You Will

  • Act as a pivot within the Product Strategy Team to co-ordinate tactics that execute on the Product Availability strategy for specific product lines.
  • Use Customer and Transactional data to assess the risks and opportunities associated with inventory.
  • Use internal and external data sources to help the Product Strategy team improve decision making in Product Availability.
  • Be accountable in measuring the results and suggest alternative actions if the strategy is not working.
  • Use a critical lens to Product Availability to support Category Management by identifying opportunities and advising on the development of the Product Availability strategy.
  • Lead the communication of the strategy across functional teams and collaborating with Supply Chain, Operations and Sales on execution.
  • Identify the lost opportunities at a partner level and work closely with Digital Merchandisers to align on the strategy to optimize inventory at partner warehouses, as well as quantify the ROI.
  • Support the Sales and Bid Teams in navigating exceptional requests for high volume deals and executing on the strategy set out by both the Category Managers and Digital Merchandisers.

Your Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education - Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, or relevant cumulative experience.
  • Minimum 2 years working experience as a Data Analyst or Inventory Analyst.
  • Strong working knowledge of cleaning and compiling large sets of data, data mining, creating reports.
  • Robust analytical skills with the ability to organize, analyze and disseminate complex data.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with BI reporting packages such as Excel and Power BI.

  • Ability to communicate analytic results in a clear and concise manner.
