Position Summary

The Brand and Member Experience team is looking for a Marketing Data Analyst to help expand our organizational competency around data collection, management, and analysis. We need a curious data professional who is not only deeply skilled in analyzing data and trends but is also interested in what truly matters - providing value to our customers. You’ll work closely with our digital marketers to design campaigns that are customer-focused and data-driven while also providing valuable customer and competitive insights to our organization.

Responsibilities

Data Collection:

  • Collaborates with colleagues to identify data and metrics relevant to business goals

  • Collects relevant and reliable data - to research consumer behavior and explore various trends in the data to generate valuable insights.

  • Data cleaning to ensure CRM and other data sources are free of erroneous or corrupt information.

  • Acts as a liaison between our brand/marketing team and the IT team to design necessary ETL processes to gather insights from multiple data sources. 

  • Suggests and manages the feedback systems we employ to measure customer satisfaction with our website, campaign, applications and events.

  • Assists in the development of surveys and questionnaires to help get at the heart of the value we offer our customers.

  • Communicates with our target audience using a variety of methods, including interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, and literature reviews, gathers data on consumer demographics, preferences and needs.

Data Analysis:

  • Uses fundamental data analytics techniques like Descriptive Analytics, Diagnostic Analytics, Predictive Analytics, etc., to analyze and interpret data.

  • Evaluates data and creates hypotheses around it for optimization.

  • Conducts exploratory data profiling techniques, common summary descriptive statistics etc.

  • Works with content writers to tell compelling stories.

Marketing Channel Analysis:

  • Uses various marketing analytics techniques to make sense of Social Media and Web Analytics data.

  • Tracks email campaign metrics like Delivery Rate, Open Rate, and Click-Through Rate.

  • Conducts hypothesis testing and design experiments for AB testing of web pages and email campaigns.

Reporting & Recommendations:

  • Provides detailed reports on Key Performance Indicators and Return of Investment of various marketing campaigns and channels.

  • Communicates and reports on the completed data analysis using high-quality charts and graphs to present findings in a clear and concise way.

  • Recommends changes to the existing marketing tactics or proposes new marketing strategies to the team.

  • Works with the team by offering their analytical opinion on campaign performance improvement.

Scrum Team Responsibilities:

  • Although previous scrum experience is not required, you will be expected to learn more about agile and scrum to understand our audience and to collaborate with team members. This includes gaining real-world experience on a marketing scrum team by actively participating in scrum events and team activities including planning, daily scrum, reviews, retrospectives, collaborative brainstorming and working sessions, etc.

  • Uphold agile and scrum values including courage, respect, focus, commitment and openness in your interactions with team mates, stakeholders and customers. 

  • Participate in the planning and execution of cross-channel marketing campaigns in partnership with your teammates. Break down silos and support collaboration within and outside of the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, mathematics, marketing, similar program or equivalent relevant experience

  • 5 years experience in a marketing function with data, analysis and reporting responsibilities

  • 5+ years experience with Google Analytics

  • 3+ years experience with Tableau or other data visualization tool such as PowerBI

  • Basic understanding of marketing tactics, channels, and strategy

  • Understanding of the fundamentals of data architecture and relational database models (SQL)

  • Experience with connecting data between multiple data sources 

  • Experience with HubSpot or other Marketing Automation Platform or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Platform

  • Experience with A/B Testing techniques and strategies for conversion rate optimization (CRO) of web pages and email campaigns

  • Experience working with data collection tools such as Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, etc.

  • Analytical, problem-structuring, and problem-solving skills; experience synthesizing data into information, and presenting concise analyses using storytelling and visualizations

  • Creative problem solver who can tackle large, nebulous questions (i.e. the ability to break questions into parts, to validate results of analyses by reconciling with data from other sources)

  • Have experience in using statistics and/or econometrics as well as conducting research to answer business questions

  • Understanding of statistical analysis 

  • Experience analyzing data using statistical models with Python and/or R programming experience a plus

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range:  $105,000 - $115,000  annually + benefits (based on experience)
