The Director of Business Analytics will join an entrepreneurial, analytical marketing team focused on accelerating growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Marketing Analytics team - a team of analysts/Sr. Analysts
  • Analyze normal (from data warehouse) and Big Data (from Hadoop cluster) to answer key strategic questions for the business
  • Handle prioritization of various initiatives, and communicate with key stakeholders regarding progress
  • Develop models (predictive and classification) for a variety of problems
  • Develop useful member segments to improve targeting
  • Help further develop consistent approaches and methodologies to develop a best in class analytics practice
  • Be willing to get hands dirty when needed and own multi-discipline or particularly complex analytics questions (will definitely serve as a “player-coach”)
  • Create and deliver presentations of insights; shared with all levels of the organization including to company leadership and board
  • Be able to translate complex analytics tasks into concise and easily consumable reports
  • Focus on continuous improvements – push the organization towards new and improved ways to use data to improve business processes
  • Proactively look for opportunities to improve the business outside of the specific questions asked and understand how to influence the organization to make the needed changes
     

Requirements:

  • 8+ years’ experience in consumer/retail database marketing analysis including analytics, response analysis, ROI analysis, customer profiling, etc.
  • Graduate degree (MBA/MS/PhD) in marketing, mathematics, psychology, or economics
  • Experience in managing team especially in consultative situations
  • Consulting background preferred
  • Strong hands-on experience with database querying tools, languages and analytical platforms supporting database marketing, including SQL. Big data experience preferred.
  • Experience having developed (preferably using R) various types of models including linear/logistic regression, clustering, classification models etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau
  • Ability to multitask over several projects
  • An innovative, positive, and self-directed attitude, interested in “figuring out” solutions to problems or methodology for improved deliverables
