Analytics Enablement Engineer

BASIC JOB FUNCTION

The Senior Analytics Enablement Engineer defines and implements analytics technology solutions in support of the data enablement needs of client initiatives. This person will architect, document, and implement a wide-range of analytics solutions including platform configuration, tag management, data extraction, and script development to facilitate automation goals. This role is a strategic and technical role requiring analytics and development knowledge and skills. Familiarity with ESPs (email service providers), web analytics software, tag management systems, digital media platforms, and ETL tools is critical in this role. Analytics Enablement exists at the intersection between analytics and technology, as a division of the Marketing Sciences Center of Excellence.

Tealium, Ensighten, Google Tag Manager or other CDP experience a must. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform discovery of client marketing and analytics data ecosystems
  • Author and maintain clear documentation for client initiatives, producing flow diagrams and technical specifications, thereby providing comprehensive requirements and documentation for developers and stakeholders
  • Configure applied data platforms including visualization/dashboard, ETL-as-a-service, web analytics, and mobile measurement
  • Execute tag management implementation using platforms such as Google Tag Manager and provide comprehensive validation of all tracking points to ensure measurement accuracy
  • Develop SQL, Python, and JavaScript code to support the interrogation of data, application of business/data logic, and automation of reporting outputs
  • Query data to support the verification of integration and pipeline accuracy, while ensuring data quality through audits and automated QA processes
  • Administer applied data platforms in a centralized manner to maintain consistency across local offices and widespread adherence to security and consumer privacy best practices

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5-7 years of analytics and technology experience
  • An understanding of core marketing analytics concepts including impressions, clicks, pageviews, events, sessions, users, conversions, and attribution models
  • An understanding of ETL concepts including the data integration pipeline, staging tables, incremental loading, SCD, data quality, business logic, and views
  • Experience authoring SQL, Python, and JavaScript in team environments, leveraging Git for source control
  • Experience loading, transforming, and retrieving data from various databases including MS SQL Server, Redshift, and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with scripting and other languages including Python, JavaScript, CLI, HTML, CSS, and Regular Expressions
  • Experience utilizing tag management systems, including Google Tag Manager and Ensighten for deployment of analytics tracking tags on pageview-based websites, single-page applications, and mobile apps
  • Experience with web analytics and digital media platforms such as Google Analytics / Ads / Campaign Manager / DV360 / SA360, Bing Ads, Kenshoo, Facebook Business, Sizmek, Kochava, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Adobe Analytics
  • Experience configuring Google Analytics Accounts, Properties, and Views, including the creation of Goals, Filters, Custom Dimension/Metrics, and Segments
  • Google Analytics Individual Qualification and Adobe Analytics Implementation Certification a plus
  • Experience with cloud services including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services a plus
  • Experience with ETL-as-a-service platforms including Datorama, Fivetran, or Alooma a plus
