Job Description
The Director, Analytics will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Moxie’s Digital Analysts and management of workflow. The Director will work directly with clients and account management to determine what Analytics services and support are required and is integral to design & creation of dashboards, reports, and analysis for clients.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Client/account facing responsibilities representing all marketing analytics (web, online advertising, email, and emerging trends)
- Responsible for Marketing Analytics tools, services and deliverables
- Management and operational responsibility for Analysts, Statisticians, and Developers assigned to the Analytics team
- Mentoring and career development of direct reports
- Coordination of resources within the Analytics team and overall agency network.
- Institutionalizing the process/methodology for campaign goal setting across channels to enhance channel integration and further promote the incorporation of digital best practices and continuous improvement
- Work closely with respective team members from various disciplines (media, creative, account management, customer insight, emerging trends) within the agency and the client to optimize and coordinate campaign strategies
- Effectively allocates resources to provide support to special projects/initiatives within client services
- Manage industry-leading tools such as Omniture, WebTrends, CoreMetrics, DoubleClick, and Google products that facilitate cross channel measurement and optimization
- Strategic direction and/or development of segmentation, predictive, and propensity models
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Nature and Scope
- Reports to VP, Analytics Director
- This position will have direct reports
Job Requirements
- May require overnight travel up to 30%
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert level knowledge of analytics platforms and other business intelligence tools
- Strong client engagement and leadership experience skills
- Strong management experience, including history of leading teams
- Competent in online/offline campaign measurement
- Attitudinal measurement tools (Marketing Evolution, Dynamic Logic, Insight Express)
- Web analytics tools (Omniture, WebTrends, HBX)
- Ad servers (Atlas, DART)
- Experimental test design (A/B split, full factorial, fractional factorial)
- Statistical tools (such as R, SPSS, SAS) and techniques e.g. segmentation, response modeling and lifetime value
- Database tools (MySQL, SQL Server, MS Access)
- Understanding of database concepts including normalization, and data integrity
- Visual presentation of data through Excel, MS Access reports, Crystal Reports, Xcelsius, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
- Must be a self-starter, with strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal direction
- Excellent management and time prioritization skills
- Excellent project management skills
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage large project with exceptional project management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to think about both practical and visionary uses of available data
- Deep understanding of marketing, advertising, and customer profiling
