Rarefied talent in data science, data technology, and analytics

Senior Marketing Analyst

MOO

Job Description

MOO is seeking an experienced Marketing Analyst to join our growing Analytics and Customer Insights team. If you’re a skilled analyst seeking to join a great team and directly contribute to your company’s growth, we want to talk to you!

MOO is headquartered in London, with offices in Boston and Providence. We make and sell some of the best business cards, notecards and stationery you can find on the web and we’re growing quickly in the US, UK, Europe and Australia. As a data-driven company, we rely on analysts to guide our marketing strategy and drive the company’s exceptional growth.

What will you do at MOO?

  • Strategic analyses: Work with marketers and other analysts to identify the greatest opportunities and pressing business decisions. Translate those decisions into questions that you can answer by analytical means. Use clever analytical techniques to find answers and drive that new-found understanding into the organization.
  • Emergent Analyses: Investigate unanticipated changes in our business performance and marketing results. Use these changes as a way to better understand our role in the market, our relationship with customers, and our ability to execute against our business plan. Help marketers and MOO’s leadership use these findings to make better decisions.
  • Thought Partnership: Become a domain expert in MOO’s marketing activities and data. Join tactical and strategic discussions as an active contributor to bring your analytical abilities and rich knowledge to bear on every-day questions and challenges.
  • Leadership: Use your deep knowledge of MOO and our data to identify opportunities for improvement. Initiate projects and changes, and engage others in driving changes within the organization.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: As a member of the Analytics and Insights team, you will bring a unique blend of knowledge and experience. Sharing information, techniques and ideas is central to the way we work, as is supporting each other when we hit stumbling blocks.
  • Data Awareness: Contribute to the ongoing development of a data-driven culture by working with the marketing team to identify and refine key performance metrics and explanatory variables. Work with our Core BI team to make this data available in our database and automated reporting systems (e.g. Tableau).

Is MOO right for you?

ASK YOURSELF WHETHER…

  1. You’ve got the right background: You’re a college graduate with 5+ years of experience in marketing analytics. You have at least one year of experience supporting media purchasing and media analytics.
  2. You have great technical skills: You are very comfortable with SQL and you have a high level of proficiency with Excel (e.g. Pivots/PowerPivot, database connections, VBA). Tableau experience is preferred. Additional technical skills are a plus, so let us know!
  3. You have strong quantitative skills: You are comfortable with descriptive statistics and significance testing. You understand correlation and regression and are comfortable explaining the concepts to others. You may have some experience with machine learning and data mining techniques.
  4. You are a great communicator: You thrive in group discussions and are great at helping non-technical people understand a technical analysis. You love to ask questions, offer explanations, and listen to what others know.
  5. You really understand ecommerce: You have a good understanding of web analytics and have a solid business foundation. You feel comfortable talking about click-through, conversion rates, ROI, and average order values.
  6. You like to have a lot going on: You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of attention to detail.
  7. You are an awesome teammate: You work well independently but can just as easily jump onto a project with someone else. You actively share insights, ideas and recommendations, and you make the most of suggestions from others.
  8. You are passionate: You care about customers. You love data, insight, discovery and innovation. You really can’t wait to get started on this team!

Answered yes to all of these? Great! We’d love to talk to you!
