Job Description
Summary of Responsibilities:
Apply advanced mathematics and predictive analytics to solve some of our client's most challenging problems. Work with a team to implement practical solutions that turn our findings into real results.
Essential Functions:
- Apply and develop machine learning and other advanced analytics algorithms
- Collaborate with software developers to plan and construct the architecture of model deployment
- Maintain a working knowledge of data mining and visualization best practices
- Architect backend development of advanced analytics and software solutions
- Work closely with the data analytics practice director and other practice directors, solution architects, product manager, and project managers on requirements, solution architecture, and development execution.
- Involvement in client-facing project activities such as requirements gathering, solution reviews, and explaining technical complexities and business benefits in layperson terms.
- Helping define the data analytics solution delivery methodology.
- R&D and long-term positioning of the data analytics practice around current and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years experience in data science or data analytics
- Experience developing algorithms with Python and/or R is required
- Strong ETL and data cleanup skills required
- Experience with distributed computing highly desirable
- Strong working knowledge of modern data mining and machine learning methods
- Strong statistics, mathematics, computer science, numerical methods, and data visualization
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability required
- Experience with data analysis on a variety of database platforms required, particularly NoSQL
- Experience with Bayesian analysis highly desirable
- Regular expression and text mining skills highly desirable
- Rapid prototyping and development skills required
- Development experience on Linux/Mac required
- Strong solution creativity and effective written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial inclination to discover novel opportunities for applying analytical techniques to business and social problems
- Collaborative team player who is detailed oriented, focused on solution quality and execution
- Comfortable working across wide range of project sizes and industries
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
Working Conditions: Occasional travel to client locations.
