POSITION SUMMARY
JEA’s Customer & Utility Analytics (C&UA) Team is looking for candidates with a high level of curiosity, a strong desire to solve complex problems and with the necessary technical knowledge and skills to produce solutions. We understand the data analytics process and its associated challenges. As a Data Scientist, much of your time will be spent supporting project teams focused on solving some of JEA’s biggest problems. You will receive training and coaching to help you learn about the utility business and to gain necessary domain knowledge for the projects you support. The idea candidate will add value to the C&UA Team by bringing skills in modeling, optimization, programming, and data wrangling. A basic understanding of Machine Learning techniques and the ability to apply in a cloud based, big data environments is preferred.
OPEN REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Social Science Research, or related discipline. Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.
AND
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and/or predictive modeling using large, varied data sets.
OR
Six (6) year combination of education, training, and/or experience.
