We start by asking the right questions. We then formulate and translate these questions into structured analysis that involves large sets of data. Examples of analysis include identifying user behavioral patterns, rapidly developing solutions to arrest fraud attacks, optimizing business cost, understanding advertiser churn etc. We strive to provide high-quality data analysis and analytical solutions that will have major impact on the Facebook business.
We are looking for a data scientist who will strongly influence the business decisions by developing and institutionalizing a data-driven analysis culture. The data scientist’s primary role will be to identify high-impact business problems and opportunities, develop viable solutions through data analysis and modeling. The analyst will work closely with teams across the company including Engineering, Product, Monetization, and Operations. This position is full-time and located in our Menlo Park office.
Responsibilities
Perform large-scale data analysis and develop effective statistical models for segmentation, classification, optimization, time series, etc.
Design and implement reporting dashboards that track key business metrics and provide actionable insights
Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations and influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating results to cross functional groups
Build life time value and Machine Learning models
Suggest improvements in the tools and techniques to help scale the team
Requirements
BS degree in a quantitative discipline (applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, or related field) from a leading academic institution. New/recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Advanced degrees preferred.
MBA or Management consulting experience preferred.
3+ years of experience in solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches (or equivalent)
Strong Programmer – in any lower level language like C.
A passion for problem-solving, comfort with ambiguity, and creativity.
Demonstrated success presenting complex research data (qualitative and quantitative) in a clear and compelling manner that inspires action
Experience utilizing both qualitative analysis (e.g., content analysis, phenomenology, hypothesis testing) and quantitative analysis techniques (e.g., clustering, regression, pattern recognition, descriptive and inferential statistics)
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and drive change, and collaborate effectively with a variety of individuals and organizations
