Job Description

The Equal Opportunity and Diversity Data Analyst will be responsible for developing, monitoring, & disseminating EEO, affirmative action, & other federal/state legally mandated analyses/reports. The Analyst will also be responsible for developing, monitoring, producing, & disseminating diversity metrics analyses/reports to appropriately inform diversity & equity strategic efforts, opportunities, & diversity planning/programming. Duties:

  • Retrieve, prepare, compile & analyze personnel data for legally required AA/EO reports in accord. with federal/state compliance regulations; compile/complete annual VETS 4212 report in compliance with related requirements
  • Conduct adverse impact analyses & other statistical analyses for annual AA plans; develop methodology & provide data reports to periodically monitor personnel data for progress toward goals & analyze/identify trends
  • Design & implement self-audits to ensure programs/processes in compliance with regulatory standards; conduct periodic EEO desk audits, prepare reports
  • Develop methodology to monitor Title IX compliance & gender equity progress
  • Conduct research & salary equity studies for compensation discrimination grievances/complaints; write reports, issue determination
  • Retrieve, prepare, & compile relevant ad-hoc metrics reports as necessary to respond to faculty/staff/student complaints/grievances
  • Work collaboratively with ECU Dept of Institutional Planning, Assessment, & Research to design & maintain a comprehensive metrics reporting system to effectively monitor/analyze/benchmark institutional diversity & equity key performance indicators; work collaboratively with IPAR partners to develop & maintain equity & diversity related dashboards, databases, interactive reports
  • Design, develop, coordinate & complete annual metrics evaluation report to analyze, benchmark & monitor 1) effectiveness of actions taken & 2) progress toward meeting unit/institutional strategic plan diversity & equity related goals/objectives in collaboration with IPAR/other institutional partners
  • Coordinate OED program effectiveness efforts & produce OED program effectiveness annual report
  • Analyze, identify & report key findings & problem areas & recommended areas of focus based on results of various campus climate studies
  • Conduct research/compile diversity benchmarks & trends
  • Retrieve/prepare/compile relevant ad-hoc data reports to monitor/evaluate division/college/unit and/or dept workforce or enrollment process diversity trends & progress & in comparison to relevant diversity benchmarks/trends
  • Translate statistical analyses/data reports to interpret findings & provide clear/concise/intuitive insight for equity & diversity initiatives
  • Demonstrate conceptual & critical thinking skills needed to develop, design, & provide relevant/useful data reports/analyses reflective of relationship between diversity & equity data across all segments of institution
  • Deliver presentations, workshops, content to educate univ community RE AA & diversity data
  • Develop content for auditing/compliance awareness communications for institutional partners
  • Develop research questions/research design, conduct data analyses & report findings to inform strategic direction
  • Stay abreast of regulatory, legal & policy updates from OFCCP/EEOC/OCR & other agencies RE EO & diversity data collection/reporting/auditing
  • Serve as Office's subject matter expert on 1) institutional diversity & equity data incl resources for retrieving data, description of university's data elements, & interpretation of statistical analyses & 2) diversity key performance indicators for higher ed institutions
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, clear writing, & professional presentation of information
  • Develop/maintain collaborative relationships
  • Other duties as assigned   

Minimum Qualifications 

Master's degree with at least two years of related experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with at least four years of related experience; OR a Doctoral degree in social sciences, statistics, education, or related discipline. All degrees should be from appropriately accredited institutions. Experience in research design as well as qualitative and quantitative statistical analysis. Proficiency in statistical software and MS Office. Evidence of excellent written communication, organizational, and human relations/interpersonal skills.   

Preferred Education and Experience 

Doctoral degree in social sciences, statistics, education, or related discipline. Demonstrated experience in preparing affirmative action and equal opportunity analyses. Demonstrated experience in institutional or diversity program data reporting/evaluation.
