The HR Analytics & Insights team comprises three key, interdependent components - People, Process and Technology - that will yield both tangible and intangible benefits. Responsibilities
The HR Analytics & Insights Analyst will report to the Director HR Analytics & Insights, and will provide strategic analytical and technical expertise to HR colleagues across business units. The analyst will partner with ESPN and The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) colleagues to design and execute standard reports, complex statistical models and other projects designed to provide business and HR leaders with insights from people data to help them to make decisions that build strategic advantage, mitigate risk and create ROI. The goal of HR Analytics & Insights at ESPN is to manage workforce information driving smart decisions in support of short- and long-term organizational goals. It is an emerging HR discipline that provides ESPN and TWDC with critical insight into how to best leverage our greatest asset—our people!

This includes the following responsibilities:•Partner with the rest of the team to determine and implement an analytics capability framework that enables a shift from stand-alone reporting to sophisticated, predictive models in support of strategic initiatives.

  • Identify, design and perform complex statistical analyses and make recommendations on complex HR issues in partnership with the Director HR Analytics & Insights. Must be able to independently propose, plan and conduct applied research projects.
  • Use a variety of established quantitative and qualitative methods (including surveys, focus groups, database mining, etc.) to gather, analyze, and interpret research data and derive useful information for key business initiatives, working across and synchronizing multiple data sources.
  • Able to use skills such as: statistical techniques like regression and predictive modeling, factor analysis, data mining, text analytics, survey sampling, and data collection strategies.
  • Provide training to internal/external stakeholders on data interpretation, data evaluation, statistical and analytical techniques.
  • Design and develop useful metrics, predictive models, dashboards, analyses and data reporting to support a variety of HR and business initiatives.
  • Develop, prepare and analyze metrics to measure the effectiveness of business outcomes.
  • Produce clear, concise reports and/or presentations.
  • Develop and prepare charts, tables, and other related documents and graphics.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous work streams.

~~Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, I/O Psychology, or closely related field with an emphasis on research design, data modeling, and analytics along with at least 2 years of information analysis experience OR an MS/MBA/MA degree in fields listed above along with a minimum of 1 year of applicable experience
  • Strong applied mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills to design and interpret predictive, descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Experience with statistical techniques like regression and predictive modeling, data mining, text analytics, survey sampling, and data collection strategies
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical software
  • Experience in predictive modeling, metrics and dashboard design
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities and a high degree of initiative and creativity
  • Strong collaboration and team building skills
  • Demonstrated expertise with Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with Cognos and Tableau
  • High level of proficiency with SAS or SPSS
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection tools preferred
