The Associate Operations Specialist will have advanced operational experience in a particular Production area or areas (Production Control Room, Studio, Editing, Audio, MCR, etc.) and is able to provide operational support and troubleshooting skills to Production Operations. They will take part in overlapping projects with an eye toward operations’ workflow efficiency, technical quality, and cost awareness. The AOS will constantly evaluate existing workflows, research new technologies, and contribute to the training or development of new workflows.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assists Operations Specialist team member(s) on a variety of special projects.
  • Collaborates with Operations Specialist, Systems Engineering and/or other Technology groups and provides operational input about the installation and implementation of new equipment in assigned campus facilities.
  • Collaborates with Coordinating Operations Specialist or Senior Management in long range capital project planning; recommends appropriate modification to Production Operations systems
  • Trains and mentors less experienced operators in the performance of more complex assignments
  • Follows up with technical support groups on persistent and serious technical issues within the facility and helps resolves complex issues as they arise.
  • Assists the Production Operations Management with the creation of Standard Operating Procedures and implementation of training programs to improve the competency of the operating staff.
  • Follows the policies and procedures of the department and directs others to do the same.
  • Keeps apprised of new technology and recommends appropriate solutions to the studio and remote based departments

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Has extensive knowledge of operational requirements involved in studio or remote live television production or post-production.
  • Proficient in business protocol.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Nominal travel may be expected.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has 8+ years of production operations or related experience.
  • Advanced technical and workflow knowledge in assigned areas, including, but not limited to; audio, communications, system integrations, camera and studio related equipment and infrastructure, creative services, distribution techniques, branding systems and strategies, server based systems, non-linear editing, production control rooms or automated environments.

 

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
