The Revenue Management and Analytics (RM&A) team supports clients across The Walt Disney Company, including Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Disney Cruise Line, Media Networks (e.g., ABC, ESPN), Studio Entertainment (e.g., The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Theatrical Group) and Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media in the core competencies of yield management, revenue planning, forecasting, pricing and optimization. Key partners to the RM&A organization include Marketing, Finance, Business Development, Research and Operations. Roles within RM&A develop, analyze, and execute strategies to maximize profitability and improve the value proposition for our Guests, Cast Members and Shareholders. Candidates should have a natural curiosity to understand the "why" behind business performance, take a proactive role in problem-solving, be results oriented, be able to prioritize and be a team player in a collaborative environment.

Your Role:

  • Provide data integration services: Acquire, cleanse, merge, validate, visualize and data mining analysis
  • Collaborate: Partner with our technology teams, analytical consultants and data scientists across various initiatives and platforms
  • Be the primary data domain expert: You will become the subject matter expert on your projects and will work to integrate data inputs and outputs into custom built tools/applications
  • Enable business decisions: Support business decisions with ad hoc analysis as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • Four to six years in the field/hands-on experience
  • Experience gathering and processing raw data (structured/unstructured) at scale (including writing scripts, web scraping, calling APIs, writing SQL queries on a variety of platforms, etc.)
  • Experience transforming unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis (cleaning, transforming, enriching)
  • Experience working closely with partner engineering teams to integrate prepared data sets and algorithms into production systems
  • Experience writing code (Python, JavaScript, Java, SAS, etc.)
  • Experience configuring/tuning software applications, database connections, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to champion projects from beginning through implementation, meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a positive demeanor
  • Demonstrated creative problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to teach/explain technical concepts/ideas to audiences of varying levels of technical aptitude
  • Bachelor's degree in fields such as Computer Science, MIS, Data Mining, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent.

How To Stand Out:

  • Solid understanding of data architecture principles
  • Data domain knowledge (media, entertainment, theme parks, resorts, etc.)
  • Experience navigating a *NIX environment and working on the command-line
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Charts.js, etc.
  • Experience with analytics tools like SAS, SPSS, R, etc.
  • Knowledge of big data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, Impala, etc.
  • Experience with online web data such as Omniture, DoubleClick, Freewheel, etc.
  • Experience contributing to/leading software tool evaluations
  • Master's degree in a technical field or equivalent
