Responsibilities
The Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics (MBIA) will be responsible for strategy development and implementation of a long-range plan for the MBIA operating model, capabilities, organization, and talent to drive functional excellence, efficiency and compliance across the Disney Theme Parks and Resorts organization. Management responsibilities for the strategic and tactical operations of the Merchandise Planning Systems, Forecasting, Business Insights and Business Intelligence teams for Disney Theme Parks Merchandise. This leader will partner with Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Merchandise Planning and IT to develop and implement a strategic roadmap to help our business partners better understand their business, make more informed decisions, and execute with the confidence that they are positively impacting the top and bottom lines.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong retail business knowledge required to develop, analyze and sustain key systems to run the business
  • 8+ years experience in retail industry
  • Strong business writing and reporting skills
  • Ability to provide compelling, engaging and persuasive fact-based arguments
  • Ability to communicate to people at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to integrate a multitude of data sources and provide a detailed and insightful output
  • Sets clear priorities to optimally complete work tasks, allocating resources efficiently
  • Able to work to designated deadlines and communicates progress when necessary
  • A proven ability to work cross functionally with stakeholders to ensure best outcome is achieved
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Macros)
  • Advanced Analytical skills
  • Experience with B.I. and Analytical tools such as SAS JMP
  • Strong knowledge of Retail Merchandising Systems such as Oracle Retail

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of work experience in analytics consulting and /or successfully designing and implementing large scale statistical models or optimization models on complex inter-related data sets
  • Extensive familiarity with data management tools such as SQL Server or SAS 
  • Experience in coding or managing analysts/programmers coding complex algorithms in programming languages such as C/C++/SAS/VBA 
  • Ability to interpret complex model results and present meaningful, client-ready business insight based on model analytics 
  • Extensive experience delivering large analytical projects or analytics outsourcing engagements 
  • Good project, time and resource management skills to deliver projects and large engagements on time and within budget 
  • Ability to mentor and manage a team of model builders and data analysts 
  • Experience / willingness to work with offshore teams in a global delivery model
