DSE Core Java Engineer job at Datastax

Job Description

DataStax is looking for a talented engineer with expertise building high-performance, distributed systems to join our team in creating a distributed, scalable NoSQL data management platform. DataStax Enterprise Server, based on Apache Cassandra, allows you to easily run analytics and search on your real time data.

Primary responsibilities include:

Write great code, innovate, design and drive new cutting edge features for DataStax Enterprise
Collaborate with other development teams, product management team, quality engineering team, and documentation team to execute on product deliverables.
Resolve hard customer issues and provide patch releases
Integrate Cassandra with Solr, Hadoop and other relevant BigData technologies

Qualifications

The stuff you'll need to succeed:

Strong Java programming skills in systems or back-end software
Experience designing multithreaded distributed systems
Passionate about building high performance large scale enterprise software
Ability to learn new technologies fast and adapt to organizational growth changes
Comfortable working with a distributed, larger development organization and enjoys the freedom of working independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a team player with strong analytical, problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills.
BS, MS or PhD degree in Computer Science or related major

The stuff that would be nice to have (but not a deal breaker)

5+ years software development experience
Experience developing enterprise software security features: SSL, LDAP/AD, Kerberos, Encryption, Authentication, Authorization, Auditing, etc.
Experience tuning performance for large scale distributed systems
Familiarity with NoSQL, SQL and relational databases
Experience with Apache Cassandra
Involvement in an open-source community
Experience with git source control
