Job Overview
This position requires an individual with a technical and analytical skill set. This individual will be responsible for pulling data, creating reports/dashboards/analyses, utilizing the marketing database. This position requires a high level of proficiency in SQL, a strong desire to dig deep into data and find trends, and a highly analytical mind. The selected individual will support the Direct Marketing team whose primary mission is to use data to drive the direct marketing strategy to increase revenue, RGUs, customer relationships, and customer lifetime value. The ideal candidate knows about propensity modeling and segmentation methodologies. 

Required Technical Skills: 

  • Solid SQL Skills (Queries, Stored Procs, Functions), prior SAS knowledge desirable.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server Databases and ability to develop in a mixed environment.
  • Experience developing self-serve reporting solutions using common BI tools (i.e. Cognos,SQL Server Reporting Services).
  • Experience aggregating decentralized data / information.
  • Basic Knowledge of statistics, modeling and business analysis. 


Required Functional Skills:

  • Basic Marketing, Finance and Accounting knowledge.
  • Basic Knowledge of statistics.
  • Basic Business Analysis skills, ability to gather,rationalize and document functional requirements.
  • Ability to assist client in defining/refining metrics to be used for commission calculations; must understand/document the data flowing through to the final metrics and assist client in minimizing any bias in the calculations brought about by human error/noisy data, etc.


Other Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with common cable billing systems: Amdocs/DST or CSG/Vantage Cable.
  • Familiarity with Call Center/Customer Service operations and relevant systems/data.


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, statistics, mathematics, business, or related field.
  • Graduate degree in statistics, economics, econometrics or related disciplines is preferred.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence report design and development. 
  • Experience working with econometric models is preferred.
  • Must have a proven track record in data-rich analyses, and be a team player, responsive and business savvy.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications or cable industries.
  • Knowledge of cognos analysis software is helpful.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail a must.
  • Must be a team player with a sense of humor.
