Summary
We are seeking an analytical, creative and motivated individual to be our point person for driving product and business decisions for Chegg’s writing services, which includes some of the largest websites used by over 30 million students like EasyBib.com. As we look to continue to scale existing products and build new products, the candidate will be instrumental in providing and analyzing data to ensure we’re making the right product decisions.
This person will work directly with leadership and product managers to identify potential new areas of investigation. Strong communication and analytical skills are critical for success in this role. Persistence, creativity, strong detail-orientation and a strong desire to improve will make you successful in this role.
2+ years’ experience in product/business analysis or background in a quantitative field is preferred. The candidate should have aspirations to one day becoming a product or business leader.
Responsibilities
- Consistent maintenance and data logging of Google Analytics event tracking
- Support long-term initiatives around the implementation of Adobe Analytics
- Ongoing product analysis support - understand the “why” behind data
- Proactively identify product pain points and opportunities from the data
- Support creation and presentation of reports on user trends, user behavior, product engagement, and experiment performance
- Work with data engineering to build standardized reporting infrastructure
- Own QA for analytics through the creation and maintenance of automated scripts
- Provide support for marketing analytics
- Support project prioritization through the sizing of various potential product initiatives
Requirements
- Self-starter, persistent and strong desire to learn
- Ability to zoom out - to see the big picture - and zoom in – to conduct detailed analysis – on the business
- A clear understanding of how to translate business questions into data points
- Diligent and consistent ability to follow-through on long, comprehensive projects
- Strong analytical skills, organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate ideas and key points clearly with every level within the organization
- Must be persistent, creative and have strong team skills
- Must be comfortable taking initiative and proactively offering product recommendations and enhancements through analysis of various data sources
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s; technical fields preferred (Business, Econ, Math, Statistics, Engineering, etc)
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen
- Fluency in SQL, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and data visualization tools
- Experience with Adobe Analytics and Tableau preferred, but not required
- Comfortable using Python for data analysis
- Advanced computer proficiency skills using Excel and Powerpoint
- Strong modeling experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 2+ years of experience in a business analyst, investment banking or management consulting role is preferred
