Summary:

The Marketing Business Analyst position will leverage their experience within the Marketing, Sales and Customer Service areas in order to implement and govern financial business performance measurements and financial disciplines.  This Analyst will help drive greater sales and marketing effectiveness and also performance via analysis that influences sales achievement and go to market tactics such as digital channels and also via strategic partnerships. This role will interface across the organization to inform and answer challenging questions related to cost benefit and value around Sales and Marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of P&L financial modeling and best practices at a business segment and product level.  Also, this role will require an individual to dig into complex data sets, identify and track key metrics, understand and project cause and effect in support of management decision making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Results Oriented
    • Analyzes, models and reports financial performace.
    • Creates product level P&L’s to ensure viability of current and new products and services.
    • Assists with creation of product pricing models to drive revenue.
    • Analyzes key revenue metrics and identify opportunities to improve revenue performance.
    • Performs ad hoc and regualar analysis of the business to drive improved performance.
    • Supports optimizing marketing spend by channel and customers segments.
  • Strategic Planning and Development
    • Assists business partners in conducting financial impact analysis, ROI analysis, breakeven analysis, etc.
    • Creates financial models to help determine financial viability of new product lanuches, marketing campaigns, sales initiatives, etc.
    • Drives continuous improvement to forecasting and tracking processes.
  • Communication
    • Identifies areas of opportunity, collects data, establishes facts, assesses results, draws valid conclusions and presents results, recommendations and alternative solutions.
    • Makes recommendations from incomplete internal data, best practices and past work experiences.
  • Collaboration
    • Collaborates with Corporate Finance and Strategic Planning to ensure financial goals of the Marketing and Sales group align with Corporate goals.
    • Builds and maintains dashboards and metrics and socialize key trends, risks and opportunities.
    • Works cross-functionally with many business units to turn unstructured, real-world data into actionable insights that drive growth or solve problems.
  • Execution
    • Prepares insightful financial analysis using historical and projected sales data to identify risks and opportunities.
    • Measures financial performance by developing operating and financial metrics; analyzing results and trends; providing budget variance feedback; driving financal accountability throughout the organization.
    • Delivers analysis, including calls and in-person presentations.

Qualifications

Education:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or similar discipline from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial role, with a focus on Marketing and/or Sales, including building financial models, interpreting data and presenting findings.
