Job Description

The Director of Analytics and Insights will be a vital member of our small, cohesive Marketing team. You will be tasked with informing our key business decisions with insights from customer data, and will play a role across all marketing activities from customer acquisition to lifecycle marketing to customer profiling and insights.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing key website and transactional data to derive actionable customer insights that will empower our team to develop better marketing campaigns.
  • Driving a test and learn mentality across all marketing efforts to help us optimize revenue, profitability, retention and loyalty.
  • Measuring customer LTV and making recommendations on how we can extend it.
  • Monitoring Google Analytics to shed light on how customers are engaging with our site; working with marketing and product colleagues to find acquisition and website optimization opportunities.
  • Working closely with our Data Science team to develop, prioritize and execute a roadmap for reporting and analytics (including dashboards, customer segmentation and profiling, predictive modeling).
  • Managing our market research and customer insights efforts (NPS, quarterly surveys, focus groups)

What we want to see in you:

  • You are data obsessed, great at translating numbers into business insights and uncovering both the what and the why.
  • You are equally comfortable talking with developers as business leaders.
  • You’ve spent 5-7 years doing analytical work in an ecommerce or financial services setting, preferably in support of marketing activity such as acquisition, engagement, conversion and retention efforts.
  • You have masters in statistics, applied math or econometrics.
  • You are proficient in advanced Excel, Google Analytics, SQL and statistical tools
  • You are used to rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty.
  • You are self-sufficient in getting the web and transactional data that you need. If you don't already know how to get what you need, you WILL figure it out.
  • You are excited about developing and executing an analytical roadmap that includes: Key Metric, scorecard and dashboard development; Customer Segmentation, profiling and insights; Predictive modeling of customer behavior.
  • You understand the importance of using resources (outsourced and internal) to execute an analytics roadmap
  • You know how to design and manage complex test and control programs for email and websites.
