Data Analyst and Project Manager

The Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) has an opening for a Data Analyst and Project Manager. The Data Analyst and Project Manager is responsible primarily for assisting the Associate Executive Director (AED) of Institutional Research and Diversity in the collection, entering, formatting and reporting of data for AAVMC’s institutional research and diversity portfolio. The position will also provide project support to other program directors as needed.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the development of survey methodologies and implements research projects as directed by the AED.
- Collaborates on survey development, execution, analysis and reporting of quantitative and qualitative research projects. Performs data entry for the purpose of updating existing reports and development of new reports.
- Manages the annual data collection for and preparation of the AAVMC’s Comparative Data Report.
- Assists the AED in managing the DiVersity Matters Initiative and the Iverson Bell Symposium
- Travels occasionally to conduct or present research at AAVMC member institutions and affiliated organizations (approximately 2-3 times per year).
- Maintains and safeguards the confidentiality of personal information in accordance with AAVMC policy.
- Provides staff support to various AAVMC committees as assigned (scheduling meetings, taking minutes, preparing meeting materials).
- Provides minimal administrative support as needed (updating presentations, coordinating events, drafting correspondence).
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Four-year degree with prior research experience, preferably in academic policy, economic research or related field
- Basic experience with data analysis is required
- Professional experience with SPSS is preferred
- Quantitative analysis experience is required; experience with qualitative analysis is a plus
- Experience with MS Office programs and internet communication is required
- Database experience (MS Access and/or SQL) is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel is required
- Excellent writing and problem-solving skills is required
