The Kindle Content team is looking for a rare talent- an analytical and technically skilled business analyst who can join our team and help evolve the way we look at the Kindle business. You’ll analyze large amounts of data, discover and solve real world problems, build metrics and business cases around key Kindle projects and, most of all, be an integral part of creating a better customer experience. 

You have to a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. It's a big ask, and we're excited to talk to those up to the challenge! 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieving and analyzing data using SQL, Excel, Access and other data management systems.
  • Driving the development of quantitative models necessary for evaluation and implementation of cohort analysis, content conversion and pricing optimization, among others
  • Monitoring existing metrics and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities
  • Designing and implementing reporting solutions that enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions
  • Providing insights, feedback and recommendations across the Kindle organization

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 + years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL (Oracle SQL preferred)
  • Fluency in standard software (including advanced Excel and Access)
  • BA/BS in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with SAS, R or similar statistical packages
  • Experience executing on basic database engineering (e.g., building tables, ETL tasks)
  • Knowledge of scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Perl, Ruby)
  • Experience driving small to medium sized projects
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including an ability to communicate with all cross functional teams (technical and business)
