We are looking for an eager and talented data scientist who is passionate about working with complex datasets and possesses the software engineering skills required to develop production-level web applications. As a member of a lean, high-impact team, you will contribute to the first release of our patented software system. You will be in the position to make a tangible impact on the business, while gaining valuable domain experience in a fun and fast-moving industry.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS, MS/PhD in Computer Science, Applied Math or related fields.
- Strong background in machine learning and natural language processing techniques, including the improvement, development, and implementation of complex learning algorithms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistical modeling and data science concepts, and experience working with very large, diverse, and real-time data sets.
- Web development experience; an ace with at least one scripting language and web app framework (Python/Django, preferred).
- Ability to quickly build prototypes for new solutions as well as scalable applications.
- Experience with designing and automating unit as well as end-to-end software tests.
- Experience in data product development around marketing or advertising use cases a plus.
- Capable of product development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement.
- Experience working with AWS, MongoDB, and other big data tech.
- Proven ability to implement third party APIs, as well as build and deploy underlying production servers.
- Experience with text analysis technologies.
- Strong proficiency in data mining/visualization tools.
- Experience working with social data and APIs, such as Twitter, desirable.
- Most importantly, motivated self starter, quick learner and team player.
