AREA15 is a modern, data driven company. We have spent significant time building an extensive data pipeline and data warehouse and are continuing to add internal and external data sources frequently. We work with an excellent vendor who is focused on managing and maintaining this data infrastructure, but we are looking for an experienced Data Analyst/Scientist who is not only a natural at translating large, complex data into simple to understand reports and insights for non-technical business leaders, but also a forward thinking leader who is able to push the envelope with how we leverage data to identify trends, model to predict trends, identify external data sources we can leverage to understand who are guests are and what they respond to, experiences that are most effective with the highest ROI, etc. We are looking for the best.

About this role

Deep dives in large-scale data to identify key insights for internal stakeholders
Defining how best to measure and monitor AREA15 business
Ensure 100% accurate reporting across many merged data sources
Work with Exec team and key stakeholders to build required reports to fit specific needs
Identify and troubleshoot discrepancies
Effectively translate business questions into data experiments
Sit at the intersection of data, retail, events, in-venue analytics and become an expert in marketing, retail, and financial analytics.
Work closely with the executive team to help them run a data driven organization
Be a subject matter expert in Looker, both as a development platform and visualization tool
Analyze complex datasets and communicate findings to stakeholders
Work with stakeholders across the organization to gather and understand data requirements
Proactively seek out and investigate new technologies to advance Area15’s analytics practice
Perform data analysis to make business recommendations (e.g. user journey and client lifecycle, impact analysis, and operations/financial forecasting)
Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to complete full-stack data science analysis, including: designing experiments or observational analyses; data aggregation using SQL or other database tools; qualitative and quantitative analysis, including identifying potential discrepancies; creating new data warehousing (if necessary); and presenting insights to both the data science team and internal company stakeholders
Build and automate reports, as well as iteratively develop and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale Think critically, test hypotheses, and leverage data to test and iterate on new product features and business strategies Quickly become an expert in multiple facets of the business, including marketing, product, and operations

What we’re looking for

5+ years of experience modeling, visualizing and interpreting data
Expertise in visualization technologies like Looker or other BI tools (Mode, Periscope)
Experience with one or more cloud-based data warehouse (e.g. Redshift, Snowflake)
Familiarity with dbt or similar tools for data transformation preferred
Enthusiasm for conducting reproducible analysis
Proven ability to work with cross-functional groups in order to meet deliverables
Skilled at working in an autonomous environment where you’ll work independently to execute on various projects
