Job Description
The Business Intelligence space is rapidly growing and evolving, and we are seeking an experience Business Intelligence Consultant to help expand our BI practice by executing on data-centric projects with proof-of-concept demos and real-world solutions.
- Interface directly with customers, gathering requirements and understanding their BI needs
- Build multi-dimensional data models and schemas per customer requirements
- Create data-centric demos and POC solutions around customer data, leveraging Microsoft's latest released and preview technologies
- Generate sample data from scratch or extrapolate from available seed data to create POC solutions
- Leverage tools in the Microsoft BI product stack to create compelling data visualizations and dashboards
- Develop/document technical architecture, system design, performance test results, and other technical aspects of solution implementation
- Transfer knowledge successfully to clients through formal presentations and informal training
- Provide accurate estimates of work effort at the beginning of projects; execute project deliverables on time and according to plan; and accurately report progress, obstacles and successes throughout development
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects, including sales, project management, and testing to ensure project success
Qualifications
- 2-4 years experience developing BI solutions
- Experience with self-service BI platforms (PowerPivot or Tableau) is a big plus
- Deep proficiency using Excel/Pivot Tables for data analysis
- Proficiency with T-SQL
- 2-3 years MS-SQL Server
- 2-3 years multi-dimensional modeling
- Strongly preferred: experience with SSIS/ETL; predictive analytics; SharePoint and Excel Services; Windows Azure data services
- Experience with Big Data/HDInsights is a plus
