Job Description

The Mobile Market/Business Manager will work closely with Walmart’s Mobile strategy team and Mobile product team to drive our business and product decisions worldwide. The candidate will aggregate and report on the performance of our products and businesses. The reporting in this role extends beyond traditional reporting, which can largely be automated. Instead, the role requires a deep fluency in business intelligence and analytics with a passion for communicating business and product performance. Management will look to this individual to provide business performance insight and concrete recommendations for improvement.

Responsibilities:
Mobile Business and Product Analysis

  • Deliver high quality analytical insights that synthesize data analysis, research and hypothesis testing into key findings and actionable recommendations. You will be given access to immense amounts of real-time mobile consumer and product data across our cutting edge mobile web, smartphone app and tablet platforms. This market data will drive your conclusions which in turn will increase revenues by improving our customers’ mobile experiences. Your conclusions will become our business strategy. 
  • Analyze a business performance to date. Research and deliver business insights surrounding our mobile business and mobile products that allow us to understand root causes of over/under performance. Follow-through on recommendations. A high level of skill with complex formulas, pivot tables, graphs/charts/tables, etc. is recommended. 
  • A significant part of this role is in measuring and evaluating new mobile technologies Walmart develops and launches to the public. Your recommendation whether to expand or cancel new business initiatives will drive our business strategy. A/B and multivariate testing experience is a plus
  • Responsible for aggregating, analyzing and reporting the performance of Walmart’s mobile businesses worldwide. This will require gathering and reporting key metrics including consumer reach, engagement and revenue. With this business data, many ad hoc analyzes will be performed to support decision making. The position will also be responsible for important financial analysis and aid in the forecasting and business planning.
  • Generate performance reports for internal use that encompass financial reporting as well as product performance, creating and updating financial presentations and other performance materials as required.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring presentation content, packaging, and that all elements meet requested specifications. 
  • We touch our customers through a number of mobile platforms (Android, iPhone, mobile Web, tablets) and have a variety of operational processes that engage those customers by marketing and merchandising our products on smartphones. Your role would be to own and continually improve a number of those efforts within marketing and merchandising. Ever felt like you were great at analytics but wanted do more than just spreadsheets and gain exposure to consumers? Want to use your analytics skills to directly impact whether consumers use their mobile phones to buy things? This part of the role gives you an opportunity to learn more about mobile consumers, engage them through marketing and merchandising efforts that you spearhead and learn from different tactics and techniques you implement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in a critical-thinking and analytical-based major

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-5 years in business analysis, finance, data management, marketing analysis, mobile, e-commerce, strategic planning, and/or management consulting
  • Must have significant experience managing large amounts of business data
  • Familiarity with mobile, retail sector and ecommerce strongly desired

Required Qualifications

Functional Competencies:

  • Fluency in English as seen through your strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in statistical regression and statistical reporting
  • Experience working with sales data and reporting
  • A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Exploring apps on your smartphone
